Cemetery Kiosk

It’s in the Scott County Cemetery, just outside of Scott City, Kansas.

The hardware is a touchscreen PC inside a metal box mounted on a pedestal. It’s available at the cemetery 24×7.

The database is managed via a lightly-skinned Rails scaffold interface. The Adobe Flex/Flash front-end communicates with the database via HTTP Service calls (Actionscript) to the REST interface that Rails exposes.

Pretty much 100% of the budget went into hardware so there was no money to pay for a designer; hence the interfaces are bland.
