Because I can

That must be the justification

I was looking at the competition for a design project and instead of my normal behavior — ignoring their “Follow Me” and “Friend Me” links — I clicked. LOL. Of their Twitter followers, half are ‘RentItToday’; the other one is merely a re-Tweeter.

Of course that old canard “Content is King” can explain the vacancy. All the Tweets are see-our-blog headlines and each Facebook flub (whaddya call a FB tweet?) recapitulates a blog article.

With no real content in their Social Media, why would anyone pay attention?

I don’t know how the Social Media tools for their new website were explained or demonstrated but one thing is certain: the website owners have missed the point with Facebook and Twitter.

In contrast, their blog articles show enthusiasm and expertise sufficient to offset their social media clumsiness:

Well, we’ve been on the wine trail again. This time, we headed East to P___ Vineyards in G___. This property is divided into five distinct vineyards, each dedicated to a specific varietal. All P___ grapes are hand-picked and made in small lots to develop unique flavors, and blind taste tests are conducted for blended wines.

Since their blog and their real world business are only tangentially related to wine and fine dining a vineyard visit and review bring a zesty accompaniment to the bread and butter description of their own operation.

Keep the blog; drop the Twitter and Facebook.
